About

About us

NuCore Energi was established to develop a new generation of nuclear power in Sweden. We are currently evaluating a project with a potential capacity ranging from 1,200 to 3,400 MW, helping meet Sweden's growing demand for reliable electricity. The final project scope will be determined based on technology selection, opportunities created by multiple reactor units, and future energy needs.

Our vision

Reliable electricity is the foundation of modern society. Our vision is to contribute to an energy system that supports industry growth, strengthens energy security, and provides stability for future generations.

Our expertise

Our work builds on Fortum's extensive nuclear expertise and decades of experience as a nuclear power owner and operator in Finland and Sweden. Fortum owns and operates two nuclear reactors in Loviisa, Finland, and has seven co-owned nuclear reactors in Finland and Sweden, including Forsmark and Oskarshamn nuclear power plants. Fortum has been closely involved in recent nuclear power projects, notably in the construction of the OL3 reactor in Olkiluoto, Finland.
